SINGAPORE: Three leaving power retailers have resolved to give ex-gratia installments, or private settlements, to facilitate their customers' progress to an alternate energy supplier, said Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 3).
The retailers are Best Electricity, Ohm Energy and UGS Energy.
Dr Tan, who is likewise the Manpower Minister, was answering to parliamentary inquiries from Mr Leon Perera (WP - Aljunied) on whether the Energy Market Authority (EMA) has the obligation to guarantee that power retailers maintain the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CFPTA) when they leave the market.
